Duties and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • The production of detailed IT services market analyses and profiles of service providers, covering areas such SAP Cloud migration; Microsoft Business Applications, Salesforce and Adobe adoption; and Agile, DevOps, and Automated Development Services
  • Developing NelsonHall Vendor Assessment quadrants and providing feedback sessions on strengths and weaknesses to vendor executives
  • Establishing executive-level relationships within major IT service provider organizations and maintaining regular strategic dialog
  • Acting as a subject matter expert to NelsonHall clients

Activities include:

  • Interviewing senior personnel within major IT service providers
  • Writing profiles and market analyses
  • Assessing vendor capability
  • Attending global industry analyst events
  • Assisting vendor firms in their strategic development
  • Assisting buy-side firms in identifying the art of the possible and suitable vendors.

Please note this role involves analyzing the market for application services on behalf of IT services companies and their enterprise clients and is not a business analyst role within IT.

Qualifications

Keenness to learn and absorb relevant application services domain knowledge is critical, as is a liking for MBA-style projects and intellectual curiosity. Plus a desire to become one of the leading subject matter experts in the market for next generation approaches to IT services.

Would potentially suit individuals with:

  • Several years experience in the IT services industry, possibly in solution consultant or strategic marketing/product management roles
  • Experience in managing third-party IT services projects from a major enterprise perspective
  • Experience within strategic sourcing of IT services for a major enterprise
  • MBAs with a desire to become an application services domain expert and advise senior executives
  • Knowledge of the application services market gained, for example, in a bid support or application solution architect role.

This is a key role in facilitating client participation in NelsonHall projects and client usage of NelsonHall services. It is also an opportunity to play a pivotal role in automating NelsonHall customer-facing processes and making interactions with NelsonHall more frictionless and beneficial for project participants.

Duties and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Facilitating client participation in NelsonHall projects

  • Liaising with analyst relations personnel and senior executives in major IT services companies to agree and confirm participation in NelsonHall research projects
  • Liaising with analyst relations personnel and senior executives in major IT services companies to ensure briefings for analysts are scheduled within the target "briefing window" for each project
  • Streamlining scheduling and customer interaction processes to make these as frictionless and touchless as possible

Increasing client service usage

  • Onboarding new clients and client personnel
  • Working with client personnel to educate them in the use of NelsonHall services, including identification of ongoing client training needs and the provision of refresher training to existing clients, as well as ways to embed the product into the client workflow

Enhancing NelsonHall's client understanding

  • Supporting clients and NelsonHall personnel in project and service usage reporting
  • Enhancing NelsonHall's understanding of clients and their requirements
  • Liaising closely with sales and analysts.

Success criteria

  • Development of strong relationships with NelsonHall clients
  • Increasing vendor/client satisfaction with briefing scheduling and project participation
  • Maintaining and increasing levels of vendor participation in NelsonHall projects
  • Ensuring timely scheduling of briefing sessions
  • Increasing client usage of NelsonHall services

Qualifications

A high level of professionalism and ability to develop high levels of empathy with clients. Plus a desire to get involved in process reimagination and automation around client-facing processes. Knowledge of the application of tools such as Salesforce and Mailchimp to customer interaction would be a bonus.
