In January 2024, Cognizant acquired Thirdera, an Elite ServiceNow partner, adding nearly 900 employees worldwide. At the time of the acquisition, Thirdera was one of the largest independent pure-play ServiceNow companies. Cognizant merged its existing ServiceNow group with it. The practice has a headcount of 2,750 resources.

ServiceNow Practice Structure

The ServiceNow practice at Cognizant is a horizontal unit positioned across Cognizant’s industry verticals. Thirdera’s leadership heads it, with the unit head reporting to the head of Core Technologies & Insights. Each industry practice at Cognizant has a ServiceNow executive sponsor, following a three-in-a-box model with representatives on the board, the industry unit, and the ServiceNow practice.

The ServiceNow practice has three horizontal teams: Alliances, Sales, and Delivery, which work across three regions of focus: the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

  • Alliances - Alliances are divided into three teams: a team managing the ServiceNow relationship, a ServiceNow training academy, and operations
  • Sales - Cognizant has a dedicated ServiceNow sales team, with members embedded across Cognizant's industry verticals. Sales is divided into direct sales, advisory, solution consulting, and innovation
  • Delivery - divided into an engagement team, a CoE team, a business process, and onshore and offshore delivery teams. The delivery organization also includes Thirdera Digital, staffed by UX experts.

Cognizant has nearly 8000 product certifications, 30 Certified Master Architects, and 70 Certified Technical Architects.
