Key Findings & Highlights:
Since its inception, Sopra Steria has provided services to the financial services industry. It generates approximately 20% of its revenues from the BFS industry. Sopra Banking Software was the banking software business within Sopra Steria.
In 2024, Sopra Steria sold its Sopra Banking Software (SBS) unit (€336.3m in 2023 revenues) to Axway, which was another software company that Sopra Steria had a stake in. The new publicly listed company, which focuses solely on software, is called 74Software and has two operating businesses: Axway and SBS Software. Sopra Steria sold its software business to concentrate on digital services and solutions. It continues to partner with SBS and deploy its solutions.
SBS Software delivers services to lenders using two proprietary platforms: one for the U.K. and one for the remaining markets. Its U.K. business is focused on supporting building societies and mortgage brokers. Its business outside the U.K. delivers services to various lenders, including commercial, consumer mortgage, and consumer unsecured. Over time, it has expanded its software delivery methods from onsite licensed software to cloud-delivered.
