It supports ~80k clients and 45m users in 165 countries and has a physical presence in major geographies across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. The organization also has an established benefits administration, tax/payment, and payroll service offering. For the last few years, UKG has been integrating the product set whilst also actively making strategic acquisitions. A key development was the 2021 acquisition of Great Place to Work Institute, Inc., an authority on workplace culture. This acquisition has helped drive UKG’s benchmark and insights capability across all its products and services.

UKG has two strategic HCM/Payroll technology platforms:

  • UKG Pro, for HCM and WFM: designed for midsized to large firms with >2,500 employees
  • UKG Ready: tailored for North American SMB organizations with between 50 and 2.5k client employees, tailored for EMEA and ANZ organizations.

In addition to SaaS HCM and WFM offerings, it offers extended services for managed payroll. UKG processes payroll for ~13.5m client employees across ~10k payroll clients, either via a SaaS or managed service model. Add on capability for UKG HR Service Delivery (~5k clients) includes employee file and case management, including a knowledge base portal.

2025 represents an inflection point for the organization with a new leadership team and new CEO, Jenifer Morgan. It is undertaking a transformation driving AI-first approach through its product, delivery, and support organizations. The company has been investing in its AI VA offering, Bryte AI, which is available for a wide range of use cases across the UKG Ready and UKG Pro platforms.
