Accenture is to establish a JV with INFRONEER Holdings, 81% owned by INFRONEER HD and 19% by Accenture. The JV, INFONEER Strategy & Innovation, will focus on construction and infrastructure management of roads and public facilities that are owned by municipalities. It will be established on April 1, 2025, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and have approximately 100 employees.
The JV plans to accelerate the adoption of data-driven models and digital technologies at construction and infrastructure operation sites. Areas of focus will include:
- Research and studies to support the formulation and execution of INFRONEER group's business strategies
- Digital technologies
- Information systems design, development, management, operation and sales
- Software, applications, and infrastructure design, development and operation
- Training, delivery and consulting
- Information collection, analysis, and processing, and information provision.
The JV will also be responsible for managing IT investments and governance across INFRONEER group.
The JV will undertake initiatives focusing on:
- Implementing a data-driven management model that leverages AI and other technologies. The JV will build a digital platform that links data such as personnel, costs and processes across sales, design, procurement and construction in the civil engineering and building construction business, also a management cockpit that visualizes data aggregated in this platform. In future this may be leveraged by other business divisions
- Improving productivity on construction sites. Examples include a system that uses 360-degree cameras and BIM (Building Information Modeling) to reduce the level of reinforcement inspections on construction sites. Also, solutions to make time-intensive estimation work more efficient, and next-generation facilities in manufacturing and logistics sites that include unmanned operations
- Improving efficiency and quality in infrastructure operations. So far, INFRONEER and Accenture have been jointly involved in the construction of EAM software for Japan's first toll road at Aichi Road Concession, a member of the INFRONEER group, and in developing utility cost reduction solutions for the Miura Sewerage Concession. In the concession business of the INFRONEER Group, the JV will leverage the JV to apply a management model that balances efficiency and quality improvement in infrastructure operations in Japan.
INFRONEER Holdings has been working with Accenture since April 2022. This JV aims to both focus on activities in Japan and also consider global infrastructure operations and construction projects.
This JV is Accenture’s first initiative in the construction industry in Japan
