Report Overview:

Raet is the largest payroll provider in the Netherlands. It is a privately owned HR services provider which also offers HR/payroll software. Founded in 1965, it services ~10k clients with ~1.5m client employees and an additional ~1.3m pensioners.

  • Analysis of the company's delivery organization including the location, size and scale of delivery locations and their activities.

Key Findings & Highlights:

Its original technology was mainframe based, which it operated until 2006 when it developed its cloud based platform. The cloud based platform supports one version across all clients. Raet's services include:

  • MPHRO services: HR administration, sickness, payroll and employee helpdesk services
  • Managed payroll services
  • Cloud payroll, offered with HCM and time applications.

Raet's investors, CVC Capital Partners, acquired ownership in September 2011 with a view to expanding it internationally. To support its international ambitions, in January 2015 Raet acquired RH Pro, a Latin American HR cloud based HCM/payroll provider. RH Pro was founded in 1996 in Argentina and now supports 17 countries across Latin America, with ~70 employees servicing ~300k client employees with a SaaS HR/payroll service.

Raet's payroll services include:

  • Managed payroll services
  • Cloud based HCM/payroll software provision using proprietary technology (RH Pro and Youforce) including legal updates and software maintenance.

All of Raet's clients adopt its payroll software as a minimum, and ~98% also adopt the HCM software as an integrated product.

Raet supports a transfer of staff arrangement as part of service transition, and has performed this for its larger clients (e.g. KPN and the NL Police). Payslips are typically delivered electronically (~85% are delivered via self-services, and 75% are solely delivered electronically).
