On December 14, 2010, after the market close, Atos Origin ("Atos") announced its intention to acquire Siemens IT Solutions and Services ("SIS")
This was an opportunity that Atos could not turn down as it will make it a European major, leapfrogging over Capgemini, T-Systems and Fujitsu with significantly increased capabilities in IT infrastructure management and the scale to be a contender for much larger multinational deals involving key markets in western and central Europe. It will need to continue its focus on expanding its global delivery network, and now also on integrating processes and tools across delivery centers, and probably on modernizing its data center network........
