NelsonHall recently attended a briefing with BT in which it launched MeetMe with Dobly Voice, into its audio conferencing service.
BT MeetMe with Dolby Voice aims to improve the ease of conferencing calls by:
- Improving the audio quality – audio will use a high quality Dolby codec ‘of reasonably similar size’ to competing conferencing systems
- Voice Separation & noise cancelation – demonstrated using BTs upcoming meeting room conferencing phone. Call data was sent via Dolby media servers which cleaned up audio artifacts.
The subscription based model can currently be integrated into existing tools, for example Cisco Webex, and be used via a desktop client on PC or Mac, with applications arriving for iOS and Andriod devices in Q1 2014 and with BTs meeting room conferencing phone to be priced competitively against high end conferencing telephones in the $900 - $,1200 range.
It will be interesting to see whether this technology behind MeetMe with Dolby Voice will be integrated into the current BT's current contact center offerings. The promise of clearer communication between agents and customer should increase KPIs and customer experience. Likewise with noise cancelation the number of agents located in delivery centers could potentially be increased.
