Report Overview:

This NelsonHall assessment analyzes Mindtree's offerings and capabilities in Blockchain Services 2020 Evaluation.

Who is this Report for:

NelsonHall’s Blockchain Services 2020 Evaluation, provides an assessment of Mindtree’s blockchain services capabilities designed for:

  • Sourcing managers investigating sourcing deployments within blockchain and identifying vendor suitability for RFPs
  • Operation transformation center of excellence personnel and process decision makers evaluating vendor capabilities for adopting blockchain into operational processes
  • Vendor marketing, sales, and business managers developing strategies to identify developments and target opportunities within managed service programs
  • Financial analysts and investors covering the blockchain industry and suppliers.

Scope of this Report:

The report provides a comprehensive and objective analysis of Mindtree’s blockchain offering and capabilities, and market and financial strength, including:

  • Identification of the company’s strategy, emphasis, and new developments in both its service and technology
  • Analysis of the company’s strengths, challenges, and outlook
  • Analysis of the profile of the company’s customer base including its targeting strategy and examples of current contracts
  • Analysis of the company’s key offerings (service model and service components)
  • Analysis of the company’s delivery capabilities (including location, size and scale of delivery operations, and delivery via technology).

Key Findings & Highlights:

Mindtree’s blockchain practice recently moved under the customer success business umbrella, which enables it to bring to market the ability to stitch & build integrated offerings with existing systems (loyalty, commerce, SAP) and niche technologies (AI/ML, IoT, RPA, AR/VR). Mindtree expects this to help force multiply the value proposition. As of February 2021, however, its delivery capabilities remain small, with fewer than two dozen specialists across its practice, primarily based in its Indian center of excellence.

Mindtree has to date focused on private blockchain for its target areas, including data access and sharing, data reconciliation, and identity protection. The company brings experience and expertise from other areas to overcome barriers for adoption, e.g., legacy system integration, information privacy and security, and governance.

The company has developed a Blockchain Automation Framework that enables it, e.g., to bootstrap and manage Hyperledger and Corda networks. It also offers two technical accelerators.

The company is principally blockchain platform-agnostic; however, its engagements are concentrated around using Hyperledger Fabric and R3 Corda. Mindtree is a Hyperledger Certified Service Provider, meaning the company offer Hyperledger support, consulting, professional services, and training for organizations embarking on their Hyperledger journey.
