Key Findings & Highlights:

AssistEdge Discover begins an analyst’s journey through summary information of the recordings. The main screen for a selected task shows summary information like the total number of applications used, total number of interactions, number of unique interactions, and number of cases (transactions).

To collect data, AssistEdge Discover has a desktop sensor that actively or passively records user interactions on the desktop. EdgeVerve’s patent-pending AI engine, STARC, is used to split a day’s worth of work into individual tasks using preconfigured start and stop markers. It uses fuzzy matching to group work executions together, considering work steps that may be executed in a different order, e.g., fields of the same form, as a single variant. v1.6 delivered enhanced data capture capabilities using computer vision to extract field data from screenshots.

Once case data (transactions) have been checked, it is sent to its STARC AI engine to analyze for patterns. Further built-in analyses supported by AssistEdge Discover.

As part of its partner strategy with process mining vendor Minit, AssistEdge Discover can now export tasks as CSV files to be consumed by Minit Process Mining. The company has tested this functionality with other process mining vendors and found it compatible with non-partner solutions.

AssistEdge Discover can export a proprietary automation file to AssistEdge RPA Studio for automation development. In addition to its proprietary format, AssistEdge Discover can export JSON files for compatibility with 3rd-party RPA development tools.

EdgeVerve targets clients looking to improve business processes through automation, efficiency, and compliance using AssistEdge Discover. Organizations early in their digital transformation journey are looking to identify the “low hanging fruit” opportunities and to standardize workflows before implementing automation to maximize efficiency and improve scalability. However, the company also sees compliance as an important aspect of AssistEdge Discover as it may be required for standardization efforts to be effective.
