Deel experienced significant growth with its payroll business, helped by several acquisitions, including:

  • March 2025: Safeguard Global's payroll business to support expansion into the large-enterprise-sized market. The acquisition included the transfer of Safeguard's payroll platform, Global Unity, and adding ~1k employees, servicing ~200k client employees
  • March 2024: PaySpace to add a payroll country capability and cloud technology. The African-based payroll and HR software and services organization
  • November 2022: PayGroup (previously ASX: PYG), founded as PayAsia in 2006 and headquartered in Singapore, provides multi-country HCM and HR services primarily focused in Asia Pacific.

Deel's payroll capability represents ~25% of its business, and through which it supports ~820k client employees.
