NorthgateArinso was formed following the acquisition of Arinso International, by Northgate Information Solutions, in August 2007.

Prior to the announcement of its intention to acquire Convergys' HRO business the company had 5,000 employees providing HR strategic business consulting, outsourcing services, systems integration and software solutions. NorthgateArinso has offices in 31 countries, delivering services in 70 countries but had a much stronger European than North American orientation.

However, NorthgateArinso is now trying to address this geographic weakness. On March 4, 2010 NorthgateArinso announced it is acquiring Convergys' HR business and will offer employment to Convergys HR's c. 2.300 employees. The acquisition is expected to close during 2Q 2010
