Key Findings & Highlights:

Avaloq was founded in 1985 to provide a proprietary banking suite to banks and wealth managers in the Swiss marketplace. It focused its solution sales to central European banks in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. It expanded its offerings to deliver SaaS and BPaaS services, using its banking suite in 2011. Its BPaaS services are all delivered inhouse. In 2018, Avaloq opened its solution development to partners by enabling a set of REST APIs. In the past two years, Avaloq has focused on delivering all its offerings in SaaS and BPaaS formats and supporting its legacy clients in moving to SaaS and BPaaS delivery as needed.

In 2020, NEC acquired Avaloq. Since the acquisition Avaloq has set a mission to become “the orchestrator of the financial ecosystem and democratize wealth management.” Avaloq has also been growing its geographic footprint with moves into APAC (primarily Singapore), the Middle East, the Benelux countries, and the U.K.
